I thought about partitioning my HD to put a linux distribution on it, but am too lazy just yet. If Vista becomes mandatory to keep up with MS, then I'll probably switch to linux. The problem I have is the complaints about slow speed, and I don't want to upgrade my computer largely for eye-candy. The sad part is that I have a free upgrade, but it's only for the most basic version. I'm using XP home now with with media center, so my "free" upgrade would end up being a downgrade or cost me a couple hundred bucks...
I will wait for the third rollout. Heck I just starting using XP a year ago. Always wait till most of the bugs are gone.
Linux Rulez Vista seen the beta version not impresed still my old Xp for working is the best (tested and overtested ) Olso a litlle bit expensive maybe i will buy more ram
I'm definitely not going to buy, will wait for my nex PC in a couple of years. Besides, what would I need Vista for ? Because they all boast about its so-called security ? Not enough for me, I can take care of my security
Im happy with XP right now and I had took a long time to part with my win 98 so much so I still use the classic theme with XP, I will be getting a new laptop soon and probably go with vista to see how it is.
That URL does not work BTW I'm going to wait for it to be out for a while (So all the bugs are ironed out) then I may get a new PC with it on.
give it about a week you will be able to download it from the net i wonder if they did anything new to provent there software being pirated all over the net
I dout it, I bet they will be saying 'I knew we forgot something'. I hear you can download the old beta's free and legally.
That's one of the reasons why the release has such a delay. Normally it should've been release around november I believe to everybody (or even earlier, can't remember). This one is properly secured against hackers I believe (sadly).
I bet someone will find a way around there security, or atleast make it so your computer starts to suck.
