umm 100% of our fault, so to stop illegals from coming here is wrong, because its 100% our fault they come here, I don't really understand the logic of this view

who cares if poor people can't eat at restaurants, when I was poor I bought food at the grocery store and cooked it myself

raise the supply of what , fruits? So what laborers get paid a bit more, and stuff costs a bit more, thats the free market right?

Do you not understand, or are you just pretending to have horribly misread that?

It's 100% our fault that we choose to give welfare money. It's not 100% our fault that people choose to immigrate.

You must be tired, because your responding to the first half of that discussion and ignoring the second half. And you had been the one to make the two halves!

Food priced do not just go up in restaurants, they also go up in grocery stores.

If you lower the supply of labor, then you will raise the cost of labor. Didn't you ever study economics?

Ha! It would be the free market -- if you allowed labor to move freely across borders. Agghghghgghghghg... that is the whole point -- YOU PEOPLE ARE SCREWING WITH THE FREE MARKET AND I WANT YOU TO STOP.

of course the US would become a third world country shortly after wouldn't it, I don't understand how anyone can look at millions of uneducated, unskilled poor people streaming in and say "hey this will make the US better"

if it was thousands of illegals then maybe it would make more sense, but its millions

so what, are americans starving? there is tons of food for everyone

I really dont have a problem with immigrants as long as they speak english. If you are going to live in the U.S you need to learn english. I live in the midwest in Missouri, and thats prolly the last place you would expect to find immigrants, but there are tons of them. Its hard to order food from fast food places now because tons of immigrants that speak little english work there and can't get any orders right. We have cops busting stores that hire immigrants and hide them. Its crazy. But like others said, they are hard workers that just want a better life. They would make a great addition to America if they would learn english.

There is absolutely no economic argument to back up that theory.

Yes, and who do you have to thank for that? Illegal aliens.

And that is just the bountiful surplus that you are trying to destroy.

when you flood a country with unskilled poor people there is no economic problems?, when you flood a country with people who pay next to no taxes, and put a huge burden on social services, law enforcement etc, nothing happens?

So poor unskilled people are good for the country? Damn maybe we should close down the education system.

ferret, please at least try to think before you post.

    Q. What is the natural force which controls the flow of immigrants into a country?
    A. Economics.

Immigrants will flow into a country as long as jobs are available. When no more jobs are available, the flow of immigrants will stop or even recede.

Note: This is unless you are paying welfare to immigrants and they come to your country to receive government handouts.

When immigrants are working, they are contributing to the economy. They are paying taxes and they are buying goods and services. If you force them to work illegally, you don't get tax revenue - but they are still buying goods and services.

Moreover, they are working the worst jobs, while concurrently increasing the overall size of the economy -- which creates more jobs, both good and bad. The new bad jobs are taken by the immigrants. The new good jobs are taken by the settled folks.

How did a radical left-winger like yourself become such a selfish xenophobe?

yeah but once the jobs are filled, then which is better to be unemployed in mexico or the US

Also many illegals send all their money back to mexico, don't they?

you didn't read the thread? northpaliki and dead crom give them good food service industry jobs?

which we are so that pretty much makes your whole arguement moot doesn't it?

OK, so you pulled 20 hours weekly. I'm sure that helped pay for dates with your strip mall girlfriend, still, not quite what I would call the 100 hour workweek.

And you broke the law doing it. Which legal argument are you following now? I'm a bit lost in the sea of hypocrisy.

    2.
Yes. This is right. They do not buy food, pay rent, or pay any other monies into the economy - every dime goes back to Mexico.

    3.
Stay with me now - read it v-e-r-y slowly, though it's been repeated ad nauseum, I know it's hard to understand: there are only so many jobs in a kitchen; in my segment of the industry: dishwasher, prep cook, garde manger, pastry, line cook (and/or station cooks - grillardin, poissonier, etc.), sous, chef, expediter, runner. No chef will put an untrained person on the line, so absent any skill or experience, and if you want to work in a kitchen, you will start washing dishes. At the same time, if you show talent, drive, and desire, no chef I know, myself included, will keep you doing dishes the rest of your days. You will move up, usually by beginning prep work. And moving up, you will be paid better. Not great (as NO ONE is paid that well), but better. It has nothing to do with your country of origin. As a chef, with my culinary balls on the line, I want good people working with me. Bottom line.

    When it became convenient.

yeah working a few hours over the allowed amount almost 20 years ago, is the exactly the same as basing a business on hiring illegals

i know, every kitchen in the country is just like yours, they all have sous chef, and grillardin , everyone who wants can just promote themselves to prosperity

I don't really care that much about illegals, Mexicans seem like good people etc. South Miami Cubans a lot different then Mexicans but whatever. Its not something that keeps me awake at night, but I don't think its good for the country to allow millions of uneducated unskilled people in, and jsut because some business make money off them, doesn't make it right , to me

Hey if illegals helped me make more money, I would probably say let them all come in

I speak from experience. This is all I can offer, since conjecturing without it is just talking with my head up my ass. That experience ranges across a host of market segments - the above, the last stretch of time. And none of it is theory. It is the reality I come from. What, exactly, are you basing any of your posts on again?

Thank you for honorably sticking to your convictions.:p

Ecc 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do [it] with thy might; for [there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Mr. Spencer, this is one of the most insightful and compassionate statements I have ever read.

Illegal Mexican invaders should be arrested immediately put on work details building a huge fence on the border. When they have finished doing their restitution by working for us send em back.

We should have a very open legal immigration line with a thorough check and let em roll on in as far I'm concerned. Mexicans should be let in by the truckload daily according to our needs and not theirs. Let the educated professionals, the uneducated laborers and all who want to come according to our needs at the time.

Having an open Mexican border has become no different than Cubas Mariel boat lift by simply unloading prisoners, mentally ill and criminally insane. The worst are allowed to come over unhindered.

The Mexicans can be some of the best immigrants and I say let em in on our terms. If not we get a mish mash of good and really bad whom we cannot track.

I want the good ones, I love em. I spent some time this afternoon with neighbor who is an elderly Mexican woman. She baked me cookies/I take out her trash sometimes. I live around probably half Mexican half whites. (I'm white)

I've been almost exlusively with Mexican women for awhile and I like them. Very attractive, passionate, much more level headed, less dysfunctional, family oriented than most American women (of any race).

Hopefully someday the feminist/liberal/victim mentality disease will wear off of American women and they will be more attractive (spiritually) to me. But for now I am grateful there is an influx of immigrant women who value women and men and children instead of just women.

I go to Mexico several times a year and would gladly take some Mexicans by the hand and walk em over myself if I could. I would also stand at the border and shoot some on site if I knew which ones were which.

Unfortunately we can't determine who is who unless shut down the border and everyone gets in line.
