Eliminating low paying clicks

This is probably a fairly basic question, but I'm new to adsense.......

I've been getting a few clicks per day, some are worth around $1 and some worth only $0.30, is there a way I can stop low paying ads appearing on my site?

 

30 cents is still quite a high rate from what I've read. I believe you cannot "eliminate" these low paying clicks, however if you have the right category, different adwords will show up, some of which pay a lot more than others, but i dont know if its controlable

 

30 cents is definitely good! There are certain words that used to get $10 a click (these are rare, but they do happen!). Some of my sites still get huge $$ clicks. Depends what you are targeting.

You are lucky to have $0.30 per click. thats pretty high to me because im averaging $0.2 per click and if im lucky ill get a maximum of $0.5

 

Thanks for the input, sounds like I'm going to have to just live with it then. If I can work out which one is giving the lower payment I guess I can just add it to the list of ad's which I don't wand to display.

Re your comments about the value of 30 cents being good, I am only averaging 2-5 clicks a day, so I would rather have 3 cents if they are clicked 00's of times

 

0.30$ is very good. Google only displays the highest paying ads (or best performing, whatever), so dont worry about it.

 

id kill for .30 cents per click, im getting about .06

 

probably a very high click thru rate @ blue fear.

Mine isnt that great either. 0.10 even when the overture inventory shows 6 $ pc for the keyword mba

You're luckier than me, I get 0.04 per click very often!

 

Did you try filtering sites you suspect are bidding low but are recieving alot of impressions on your content? I filtered out a few lodging properties that I knew were lowballing bids for the content matched network and that left more impressions for the advertisers who were just setting one bid (probably higher than they needed to be paying) for both search and content match.

This reduced the low paying advertisers in the mix and improved my rpc.
My situation is kind of out of the ordinary as the content is fairly targeted and has a low volume of advertisers looking to target this content.

Just put those in your FILTER to elimate low paying one's.

Thats what I have implemented and low paying ones have vanished.

It's much better to track what people are clicking in your site and then deciding which ads to block then to block the generic ones such as the list in http://adsblacklist.com/.
