... This is exactly why I cannot get into any religion of any kind. To much ignorance.

I believe not in, nor the lack of a god. I will take what I see in front of my face as the truth, not what some book (that was written by people, mind you) sais.

I do personally love how biased all the information is though.
Coming from the muslims, all christianity is wrong and to live "that way" is going to send one to hell.
Coming from the christians, the same thing, except directed at the muslims.

We believe what we believe, because we have been programmed to accept this as the answer, because we can not comprehend (as humans) the fact of not knowing what all actually started it all, or where we will end up.

I see this all the time. Every religion is the "RIGHT" religion, pointing fingers and displaying an extreme bias twords their own religion without any acceptance, or understanding of the fact that ... oh no... someone may not have the same beliefs or thought patterns.

I do not know about you guys, but I live my life in a way that I see fit. I make sure everyone around myself is as comfortable as I can possibly make them (in my power). I do not need religion to give me answers that can not be answered, and at best are based off of stories. Yes, they are great for morals, but nothing more.

Where is the religion that points sais "live life to your fullest potential, and keep those you love content" because when that happens, sign me up. Although I guess this wouldn't be a religion, but rather the morals and ways one would live.

Yeah, I do not need those "things" the religious types have. I have my loves to whom keep me happy and my mind content.

Though this is not a reply to me, but I would like to ask something...

    Arnie ,

    1. Tell me, is it a must for a word to have a "single" meaning. Or can a word have different meaning (based on dictionary)? Must a word be taken literally or can we take it metaphorically? (Not only Quran but also Bible and any other scriptures like Gita etc...)

    2. How do god speaks?

drewbe, you write: "I believe not in, nor the lack of a god. I will take what I see in front of my face as the truth, not what some book (that was written by people, mind you) sais. I do personally love how biased all the information is though. Coming from the muslims, all christianity is wrong and to live "that way" is going to send one to hell. Coming from the christians, the same thing, except directed at the muslims."

But this only shows you know nothing of Christianity. The fact is the Holy Bible clearly states the opposite. You see, while we as Christians believe that only Jesus saves, we also believe that Jesus will save whomever He will for His own reasons. It's none of our business.

Rom 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law [are] just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 2:14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:
Rom 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and [their] thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
Rom 2:16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

    And elsewhere:
Rom 2:27 And shall not uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfil the law, judge thee, who by the letter and circumcision dost transgress the law?
Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither [is that] circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he [is] a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision [is that] of the heart, in the spirit, [and] not in the letter; whose praise [is] not of men, but of God.

I believe fully there are many more decent muslims than I, an Independant Fundamental Baptist surely am. I pray so, certainly for the sake of the Arab world, for the ENTIRE world. I believe there are Inca descendants living in the mountains of Peru who've never even read a Bible who are certainly more Holy than I.

I don't think God is fooled for one minute by spectacle. Of any kind. And He tells us flat-out in His Word that He will judge our hearts whether we have the "law" (of Moses) of not. And we will be judged on the contents of our hearts.

That being said, I would wish, on the whole, and for every living being, a closer, more personal relationship with the Living God, the Light of the World. And the way for most of us to get there is through His Word, the Holy Bible. For this is the ONLY book which is inspired by the Holy Spirit. All the rest can only hold you back from this relationship.

But as for stating such an untruth as Christians believe all muslims will go to hell - well, that simply needed to be addressed and set straight.

Also, when you write such things as:

"I believe not in, nor the lack of a god. I will take what I see in front of my face as the truth, not what some book (that was written by people, mind you) says,"

I can only feel sadness for the limitations you have placed upon yourself. As if your face were the bellweather for truth, and were your face not to see it - it does not exist. I am immediately reminded of the words of Harry Truman: "It's what you learn after you know it all that really counts."

    IN Christ

    No but seriously

I had this thread off of the religous ideology that nobody can ever hope to win and on a much better topic of finding better more honest people to run our countries.

    Peace and one love

The scriptures are right there, I posted them, and they mean what they say.
Obviously if I'm "missunderstanding" something so plain, then maybe someone should enlighten me on the double meaning to "kill."

Seriously, even in arabic it means the same damn thing, and the arabs, and deep followers of islam are taking it seriously. They are obeying the word of Allah, or they wouldn't be killing themselves and constantly causing trouble. I don't see christians blowing them selves up, attacking other countries for no apparent reason, etc. I only see islamic radicals (because moderates arn't truely musilums in my opinion) causing mass fear world-wide. This is a religion of choas and hate otherwise these things would not be such a huge problem. I think I have provided the evidence and source to back my posts up, have you anything to support your side of the discussion?

    Is this from the Quran?

4 Women: ...4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them, ....

    2. Question:

Is the content in the Hadith true?

    dsp,
    Thanks

Both the questions are easy to answer.

POINT 1 : This quotation is from the Quran, and it is said when the muslims were in war and they were told not to trust any unbeliever and Kill them where ever you find them.

This is because no commander of any army would tell his soliders during the battle to believe what his enemy is saying.
But in the very next chapter, chapter 5 God says to the believers that if they(enemy, disbelievers) seek refuge, take them to the place of safety. No commander can be so nice, even today to tell his soldiers to take his enemy to a safer place after he has won the war or his enemy has surrendered before him rather he would let them go.

Allah (God) is all merciful, he commands the muslims to lead the enemy to a safer place, if they(disbelievers) surrender or loose the battle.

POINT 2 : It is mentiond that The holy Quran is the word of GOD.
When ever their is a confusion refer it.
Hadith is not the word of Allah but it store information about the daily life of the prophet, which is written by humans, who are bound to make mistakes.
There is nothing wrong in Hadith and every muslim believes in Hadith but if their is a confusion the muslims refer to the word of GOD i.e The Holy Quran.

Allah is merciful, The Holy Quran is the true word of Allah!
