I was a regular member at another SEO forum. I then found this one and fell in love with it. I almost "live" here, and I have learned many things. The forum was nice when it was a small place to have a nice chat with other SEOs and discuss important website issues. But the forum is getting big an popular, and I am seeing more and more newbies comming in and posting all kind of nonsense, attacking regular members, posting all kind of BS agains the coop, etc. Don't we need any mods? There are several threads open that are just a huge battle among a few users, and it is a real pain clicking on the "new posts" link and seeing these crappy threads bumped up over and over with nothing but insults. I know the forum has a policy of "no locking" and "no deleting posts", but really, things are getting out of hand.
I dunno - everyone seems pretty well behaved and mostly the members seem to step in when people get out of hand. At least thats my opinion.
I agree, that was one thing that I liked about this forum, but as it grows, controlling the new people seems to be a difficult task.
But - members like you and I (and others) jump on things pretty quick. I dont know what a mod could do that we dont since there is a no delete policy.
Seochat has a hack that bans a member for a few days when he goes against the forums rules. Maybe something like that. This shouldn't be a place where you are allowed to post whatever crap you wan't and insult whoever you want without having any consecuences. EDIT: hmmm... just noticed that VS used her powers to do exactly what I said... I guess what we need then is to have the mods use their powers before threads get so out of hand. Forgot that we already have some mods here, lol
I dunno - My attitude is that if I have to ban you - dont come back. SO those 'punishment bans' make no sense to me.
Click on the "Forum Leaders" link on the main forum index page and you will see that we have 4 forum leaders watching closely over the forum Shawn knows everything that is going on, rest assured of that Fryman
If Anthony would quit stirring things up! You will find he is on all of those aformentioned threads.... If he didn't start it, he sure tries to get involved one way or another.... Anthony needs to go out and do something more often, maybe clean out some of the trailers in your yard you mentioned in another thread. LOL

Come on, Fryman, cut me some slack ...I was on that thread pretty quickly, issued a warning and then laid the smack down! The problem is that the mods don't have time to read every thread/post, so if you guys think something is getting out of hand, just PM me.
VS if that was the case you would get 50 PM's a day just from me and I know that you would not like that nor respond to most of them. The forum is fine as it is, it is growing fast, yes there are problems but most of them are self policed by the members and we have some good one's here
I would never assume that a moderator or administrator knows what is going on. my forum has way less members than this one and I do rely on people helping me. I remember the thread here about a bad site in the coop and 2 previous threads about the very same site where 1 particular member (not you, AC) kep saying "be quiet, Shawn knows about the site, I'm sure". Well, his way of sucking up prevented an early alert. It takes a team of good people to make a positive impact unless you want a Nazi style forum (not mentioning names). About 50 PM's a day: come on Tony, that is like that story about the woman who calls police about stupid stuff all the time and then when she really needed help, they didn't come. Or something like that ...
You don't know much about the way Shawn run's HIS forum yet ST, nor the way he feels about moderators. Better watch your step because you would not want to moderate here
