Correct, also your best opportunity to learn. If you already have traffic+traffic that is 90% of the key (assuming your keywords pay decently). If this is your case 10% of the key is left to learning how to best optimize your ads.

DO NOT BUY ANY ON THE SCAM BOOKS...get on the horse and ride. You'll start the program $80 richer :).

The bottom line is you have to work on your site to get the traffic and clicks. That's a lot of work. No easy money from Adsense.

The clicks will come, you need the traffic 1st. Then start to tweak settings, colors, add channels, etc. and watch your stats. Some like using programs like this one http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=10638 but i like using the Google panels 10+ times a day :D

    Hello..

I was just doing a google search on "Adsense Secrets reviews" and this forum and thread showed up in the results. I'm late to the party, but have just started using Adsense and like most people, want to make sure I'm using it effectively. I'm glad I did the search, because $79 (on sale, ha ha!) is a pretty steep penny to pay for an ebook in my opinion.

    Thanks for the info.

Hey Patty, welcome to the forum, what engine did you use to get here?

Do an introduction thread if you wish and tell the forum a bit about what you are trying to do online so the members can get to know you and help out.

Welcome to the forum Patty :)

Thank you Anthony. I appreciate the welcome. I will post an intro thread.

A Google search on "Adsense Secrets Reviews" is what got me to this thread about the book.

Usually the first page or so of google results will turn up those affiliates promoting the book, so I wanted to make sure I found real conversation about the book.

This thread came up on the 2nd page of Google results.

    Wow...

I am new here and I bought the ebook. But I don't think it is deserving of such criticism. I am not sure what to think, if some people are just jealous of the author or his web site or if they truly believe that everyone would rather be roaming forums to find information. Some people will just pay the $79 bucks and write it off as a business expense. I don't think a gun is pointed to anyone's head to buy the author's ebook. I think he's done a good job in marketing his ebook and himself. Some people may feel like they know it all and that's fine. Just don't buy the book. Frankly, I could care less about $79.00 if I got one bit of information that helped me. The author also sends you helpful emails with additional information.

Some people like the books (hardcopy), and feel that spending some of their money must mean they will get bang for their buck...I can respect that. However I think you find the info online more useful in the log run. Websites are updated daily with the newest/ up to date information.

The book may be helpful to someone that is new and clueless. Most people on forums like this have a bit of experience so it wouldn't be helpful. I think a few good searches would turn up all of the information you need to achieve success with adsense on a site with high traffic already.

Building site traffic is the real challenge, not how or where to place your ads.

Sounds suspiciously like the book's author in some of his posts over at Sitepoint.
Load of bollocks! I've never had an email off the guy yet!

Having said that, I've recouped my outlay no problem, which kinda sticks in my throat since I really did find the book disappointing.

About all of these books, are just the same things (rewritten or some time just copied) you can find on forums and blogs about adsense.
