CONTEST CLOSED Had to end the contest because it offends the design community. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11434859&postcount=18
I might enter but I will watermark if only a faint one - too many people here willing to steal. It doesn't just protect designers, it protects clients too. EDIT: I have changed my mind - I wont enter a contest where the CH so clearly states there wont be feedback it just wont work for me so I'm out. Good luck with your logo.
Not giving any feedback, and not allowing a watermark sounds a little dodgy don't you think! Any reason in particular you wouldn't let the designers put a watermark on the actual design? I don't think you'll get many entrants if that's the case Although I do appreciated you have good itrader etc, just a lot of people don't like posting they're work without a watermark
Edit: Likewise, no feedback and no watermark to protect the logo on second thoughts i won't enter either. Good luck.
Check my feedback and itrader. Not sure whats sooo fishy about that. With this being one of the highest paid logo contests on here, I expect to receive a lot of replies. It would just be too time consuming to review every single logo. Sorry. I will edit the original post, regarding the watermark, since you guys feel that you are on the top of your game. I understand the concern with the watermark. Include a watermark and keep it really faint. Make sure it doesn't interrupt the original design of the logo. If I choose your design to present to the client, you must remove the watermark from the logo then. I think that will work for everyone!
Ok, It may be an idea to try and explain what you want a little better too - seeing as you only want professional designs! You want to include the little ship, does it have to be that one? If so have you got a larger res one? And you also want children on it?
1. Professional Logos are logos that take into consideration what the client is seeking. It takes experience to get to that point. For instance this logo wouldn't be considered professional: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11416599&postcount=9 But this one would be considered professional. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=11416749&postcount=10 2. No, that's the only ship picture I have provided by the client. It doesn't have to be that ship. Preferences will be given to those you can use a ship exactly like that. 3. Pictures of chirldren must be in the design. For instance..... Be creative. http://www.sunderland.gov.uk/education/images/childrens_fund.jpg july 03.jpg http://www.theoconocon.com/ChildrensHosp Logo.jpg http://stores.lunaroasters.com/catalog/ChildrensLogo_WEB300.gif http://www.childrenshospital.org/clinicalservices/Site2286/Images/PTC_color_logo.jpg http://hemonc.cho.org/images/Logo2006.jpg
With such a good iTrader, you should know better than to request watermarks be removed before showing the client AND no feedback. Frankly, that's a load of crap. Every designer here puts time into a design and the least you could do is give a moment back. For everyone but the winner, all they get out of it is feedback. I think you will find you have burned a lot of bridges with this contest.
Where was it addressed? The last thing you said about it was that you still wanted a faint watermark AND you want it removed before showing the client - which pretty much defeats the purpose of having one. You are, however, right about one thing - it's all about time management. Which is why I'm not wasting my time on this thread anymore.
I think the reason people like to watermark their designs is not because of other people stealing the designs but the people holding the competitions! Nobody else on the forum would have much use for the logo, but if people post up unwatermarked logo's what to stop the CH saving the logo and using it? Not saying that's what you're going to do, but that's the reason people don't like submitting designs without a watermark It's happened plenty of times on here with people leaving the contests, and then the next thing they're using one of the logos or banners etc that someone's posted up Fair enough you have a decent iTrader, but I thought i'd try and explain where the designers are coming from
"Doh" Good luck with your contest. Even though u addressed both issues it didnt make me feel any better (although im sure it did to you). U do have nice itrader, but as stated before you, or your "client" can still steal. Im not in the habit of giving away hard work. Im sure you'll find people to enter.
I'll enter this, but i WILL post WITH a water mark, not too faint but it will be enough to show the design and protect it. To show it to the client, the watermark will NOT be removed. You can also check how it looks on the site with the watermark. And regarding feedbacks, you say its because of receiving too many entries? Well your not receiving many entries so i guess you can provide feedback... If you agree, i am designing else not.
Man, I must of really upset the design community today.... Sorry if I offended everyone. I tried to create a contest which offers more than the normal $25 logo fee. In return for higher winner payout then normal contest, I asked that you include a faint logo and understand that I could not provide feedback to everyone if there were a lot of submissions. Was trying to do a trade off, but it appears that designers have their standards. Oh well. CANCEL THIS CONTEST!
Well higher pay does mean that you can get something extra but it doesn't mean that you can ask designers to show without a watermark. That way everyone will make a contest for $100 and ask for no watermarks. And then end up stealing any of the design. This is not how it works. Sorry about it.
