IP to exact identity of computer: how?

Every time I login to my company e-mail (running on Squirrelmail), it shows me when and exactly from which computer was my e-mail account accessed last time! It shows me an IP address and the name of computer written next to it in brackets like this:

XX.XX.XX.XX (computername.companyname.com)

Is there any way to have the same an IP to computer locator software to analyse traffic of a website?

Has anyone tried it?

Actually it is not a problem to have computer name from IP, cause computer name actually is domain name of the PC, so you can just do reverse DNS to find out name from IP, many Traffic Analysis services provide such features.
