awStats Accuracy

There is a feature in awstats that says - Add to favorites (estimated) and gives a percentage of total visitors who have added your site to favourites.

Does anyone have any idea how accurate this is?

I don't know how they calculate that, but maybe it's based off of requests for favicon.ico.
