Linkexperiment.com $50 referral Contest

I'm going to give away $50 to the webmaster that can send the most traffic to http://www.linkexperiment.com this next week starting now (June 15th 5PM). Participation is simple. Just send traffic to:

http://www.linkexperiment.com/?e=youremail@address.com

replace the email with your own email, and start sending traffic. This will probably work best for bloggers. A few notes, i'll be checkin ips, so no funny business :o

also, i'll report back here what kind of traffic this contest results in for everybody's benefit.

Oh, forgot to mention what the site's about. Linkexperiment.com is an experiment by me to see how much I can sell links on my website for. The website features 100 links (not full yet only 92) and webmasters can bid on a link on the homepage, at which point the last link on the page will fall off. I've sold 92 links for $40, with the top link for $3

24 hour update

i'll share the results I'm getting so far from my contest announcement. Firstly, I posted on a lot of webmaster forums, and about half took my post down for self-promoting, even though I said I'd share the results. Oh well, you guys will get to see what happens :) Traffic has spiked up, mostly from webmasters interested in the contest and the prospect of incoming traffic. The page will probably set a new visitor high today.

Assuming all new links bought are due to the contest, I've sold 12 links in the first 24 hours for $25. So half the giveaway is paid for in the first day.

As for the contest itself, There's one real contender now that has sent 19 unique visitors to the site so far. There have been 21 unique visitors sent total just for the contest. This contest is still wide open and anyone can still get the $50 at this point. I've posted the a top referrer list here: http://www.linkexperiment.com/contest.php that will update automatically. Once I get a top 10 list, I'll also add a feature so people can check how many referrerals they've sent to see where they stand.

So everything looks good so far, I'll update again later hopefully with some charts.

still about 7 1/2 hours left. It was going neck and neck between 2 guys, but one of the guys put up a myspace bulletin and that is sending TONS of traffic. It looks like he's going to take the $50 unless the other guy can think of something, or someone else suddenly sends a bunch of traffic.

1.5 hours left! someone is OBSESSIVELY checking the contest page, I'm guessing either the first or second place contestant. It looks like the guy in first has a pretty comfortable lead at this point. If the winner is reading this, I might be out running when the contest finishes, and I'm going to go out tonight, so I may not send payment tonight if I can't get a hold of you for the half hour I'll be near my computer today.

Also, gonna ask for your name, picture, a link to one of your sites if you have one, and a little blurb about you if you feel like having one.

This contest was fun, I'll probably have more, maybe a little different though.

Also, I'm going to have an official writeup of what the results were complete with graphs and pictures. I'll post that up on DP when I'm finshed with it.

lol, actually it wasn't that close, traffic is continuing to come up. Also the 2nd place guy's traffic all came from emails and was foreign. I'm not sure what the email said, but everyone who came from the emails didn't click to other pages. Hold on, i'm gonna post up the guys info on my contest page. I'll do that now
