When did you stumbled your site there?

You should give it few hours.

Why don't you put your stumble profile page here. Maybe looking at it someone here could give better feedback.

What sort of site is it? Did you place it in the proper category? These things take time.

huh? Caroline Middlebrook has a stumble rush series going but I haven't had tome to check it out, judging by everything else I see her doing I would think it might be very good. You might want to check out her blog as she believes stumbleupon is a terrific way to build backlinks......
no, this isn't a paid advertisement. sigh.....

from my experience, some categories of sites perform much better on stumbleupon than others. For example, one site I created had over 500 SU visitors per day for weeks in the "humor" category, but another site in the "marketing" category got only about 20 visitors in a month. So it can really depend on your site.

But this kind of traffic is never steady and dies down very soon

I got hardly any hits from Stumble at first, then I got a "rush" just recently on a Hubpage of almost 200 hits per day for a few days, now I'm back down to 20 a day. It all depends who puts you in their favorites and if your site gets on the front page, if you get a lot of reviews, etc., etc.

Plus, of course, it depends who is stumbling that topic that day.

I have found that any page with the word "free" in it gets better stumbles than any others. I'm thinking I should give something away on every page! ;)

How many friends do you have?

If you have no friends or very little, your site goes no where. I had 200 friends and I was getting about 2000+ hits a day. Do not stress much though, Stumble Upon Traffic is almost useless and most is just click through traffic with no benefit. Work harder on link building and SEO and get good traffic.
