Anyone in the states have a .ca domain, it seems one has
to live in canada to purchase a .ca?
thoughts?

I do not own any .ca domain names nor am I sure about the registration restrictions. You might be right though, I think they are only available to Canadian Citizens/Residents, organizations with a presence in Canada and owners of a registered Canadian Trademark but Im not 100% sure.

Its quite the process to register a .CA domain name. A few agreements etc.. and you dont actually own the domain as soon as your CC is charged. You have to agree to a bunch of stuff first.

I know when I registered mine it was quite the process. You even have to submit documentation via fax/mail

Yes, .ca can only be purchased by the Canadian citizens. There are so many verifications before you register this domain.
