Has there been any thought on expanding Digital Point's toolset out to the Yahoo equivalents?

Yes, and it's not going to happen unless Yahoo offers a free API (which I doubt they will ever do).

Why wouldn't they? Not as developer friendly as google, or what?

Well, wouldn't even be possible with screen scraping. My tools have a pretty high traffic volume, and Yahoo throttles queries to it. So it's not possible in that regard.

How are other tools bringing back Yahoo information?

Screen scraping... it can be done of course, but they must be doing low volume. If I were to simply add it as a feature of the keywords tracker, it would require about 20 queries per second 24/7 to Yahoo. Since they throttle requests back, it would never work with that sort of volume.

Very good point but what makes you say that Yahoo will never offer an API?

They do offer an API, but since Yahoo likes to monetize on everything, it's a six-figure initial cost to use, plus a per query charge.

Jeez!!!! Yahoo should change their name from "Yahoo" to "FleeceYou".
