Hi Mates,

A very important point to gain points in Yahoo Answers is to participate in choosing the best answers by voting (Vote for best answer).

* Some peoples ask the question but don’t choose best answer for any damn reason, and so the question remains unresolved and goes for choosing best answer by voting.
* You can go to your answers history and check for unresolved questions and give the vote to yourself for best answer by clicking
* If no one else vote for any other answer as best answer, then your vote will choose your own answer as best answer (bring you 10 points, bravo!)

Nope, it is not going to help you anyway in Yahoo Search SERPs. Its just to build trust among Yahoo Answers visitor for answer you are giving.

You can recommend your service to needy peoples in Yahoo Answer and your point will show your trustworthiness, IMO.

Hmm... I have 10% of my answers that have been voted for the best but I've noticed some people have up to 35%! I might try some of these ideas. Thanks :)

you can put links in your answers in the format of http://example.com but they're nofollow. I'm not sure if you can express a link as ; but either way all links posted by users are assigned the nofollow attribute.

Yahoo Answers never meant to get Backlinks, as they are with no follow. It is place where you can market your website and help visitors by suggesting answers / service (yours, as well as others).

It can only drive traffic (as well sales, sometimes) not a backlink

yahoo backlinks still indexes and counts nofollow links as backlinks, therefore it does increase your number of backlinks. whether or not these links have any releveance towards SEO is an entirely different story.

Or you can make multiple accounts and then vote for yourself, eliminating any chances of anyone other than you getting the best answer

That is interesting. Thanks for the heads up. Sorry to post this in the yahoo forum, but do other search engines follow this method of counting backlinks as well? (In similiar search engine applications) Thanks.

Thanks all for posting your comments.

Voting for your own self, wouldnt that be called cheating?

I think it won't, as you are just voting for the best answer, which does not violet TOS.

As well, when you go to unresolved question, you won't find the names of person who have given which answer, so its a blind game. You just need to remember which answer you gave or else put some sign on every post to identify your post.

I hope this helps.

Regard,
DS

You fellows don't know how to use Yahoo Answers very well.

First, when voting for your own answer, you can easily find your own answer by placing your mouse over each "report" button, as you cannot report your own question, it is easy to identify.

Second, it is not against the rules to vote for your own answer, otherwise, Clinton would have had to vote for Bush. (I don't think so!)

Third, it is againt the Yahoo Answers Terms of Service to provide links to outside websites for the purpose of solicitation. Links to articles or sources supporting your question are allowed.

Nobody wants to visit your sight, and your answer will be reported, penalty points awarded, and, eventually, your account (including email and other services) will be permanently suspended.

Don't forget that yahoo could suspend your account. If you willing to risk your account go ahead.
