Since I just moved recently, and decided I could do without cable TV, I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with broadband TV providers? I am interested in watching the world cup games online.

Anyone else watch TV on their computers? Sports TV?

Get down to the nearest pub mate (or bar since you're over the pond) and support http://encyclopedia.laborlawtalk.com/wiki/images/thumb/5/5f/25px-England_flag_large.png

Our first game is this Saturday.

oh no -

All of the BBC's 2006 World Cup matches will also be broadcast exclusively live on the BBC Sport website.
The service will be available to UK broadband users and will mirror terrestrial and interactive coverage.

Yes, the BBC are showing all of the games live on their site.

Only for UK residents :(

Q: Why is broadband viewing online restricted to UK residents?

A: The main reason is because the sports bodies, who hold the rights to events such as the World Cup, sell those rights on a country-by-country, or regional basis because that's the way they make the most money. In the case of the World Cup, where the BBC and ITV hold the UK rights, other broadcasters will be providing a similar service in their own territories.

How do I get around this? Can I go through a UK proxy server or something?

Great information, dude! That definitely answers my question...

It'll do me good to be able to watch some of the games at home instead of spending too much time at the bar.
