Just meant to draw your attention again to what many of you have probably heard of. One of the Google team members approved that if you buy sitewide links for your website - your site may appear on the 6th page of Google search one day. Be careful...

If you move to Google rank 65 from rank 5 - you just might feel a small loss in traffic...

Cool, time to give my competitors a batch of sitewide links.
Why the dreaded 6th page? Surely they could penalise your site worse than this. How do they determin a purchased sitewide link from a more natural one?

How about if my site which ranks 100th buys sitewides, can I then be boosted to rank 60?! I think you're talking rubbish. Post proof/research then people will believe.

Please provide us a link to where Google has confirmed this.
In most cases the purchased links are simply devalued and give no ranking power...

That's so cool. I will set up $1,000 budget to buy sitewide links for my competitors. Let we see what happen then (only if this rumour is true though )

I think when we talk about "6th page" in serps, that is assuming that preferences are set for 100 per page, so 6th page would actually mean 600th to 700th rank

unfortunately i cannot disagree with you,
as one of my sites got the 6th page serp.
but i have no idea about this issue because it's a quite new site,
IMO the domain is the reason as it is a .org domain and the .com is live at the same time.
hopefully anyone can tell me why too. :(
