Social bookmarking is also used for back links.

but can u please enlighten me more on this.

what do we need to do

1) social bookmark on one site with many bookmarks
2) social bookmark on many sites
3) and how do we see that different user bookmarks our site

it depends on what you are trying to achieve for your social bookmarking efforts. If all you want is to drive backlinks (not just traffic) then you need to focus on social media sites that are DOFOLLOW! Here is a list of some of the biggest dofollow social media sites:

In terms of seeing what users bookmark youur submitted site it's different for each site but you usually just click on the submission and then it will show you who else "saved/voted" on that article. Hope this helps

DoFollow links from various social bookmarking sites is the best option.
Use different anchor text as well (slightly modify it, but still keep some keywords ;) )

I always found that social networking was better for traffic then any actual link development. But every little bit counts I suppose.

Exactly! Social bookmarking sites are intended for traffic, not for SEO purposes.

Using multiple Bookmark sites is the easyest and most effective way to do it, but remember most bookmark sites are no-follow do don't put much effort in sites like these, mostly because they give back no traffic what so ever, and their links would be worthless when it comes to SEO.
