How do I link an article,blog social bookmark back to my site?

Need info on linking articles,blogs back to my site.
I have submitted articles, blogs and social bookmark sites. about and for the purpose of generating backlinks to my site to generate PR to gain ranks in an organic search. My question is how do I link those articles, blogs and social bookmarks back to my site.
Do I create an anchor from that article etc.. to my site or once i submitt an article does it automatically link back to my site? any direction would be great.

I have been submitting articles, blogs etc.. in hopes of creating links back to my site. My question is how are links generated back to my site. Are links generated back to my site by placing my site address www.howtocrete.com within the article, or do I need to manually need to create some sort of anchor text within the article or blog that will link it back to my site. And if I need to manually link the article back to my site through an anchor, what is the procedure of creating an anchor link within my article that will link it back to my web site. I hope this is clear enough, as you can probably tell SEM is completely new to me.

When you submit articles there is an author's box in most article directories, in the author's box
you will be allowed to create 2 backlinks to your site with the anchor text of your choice. Most
article directories do not allow backlinks in the body of the article, only in the author's box which
is usually below the article. You should consider using an article submission service such as
submit your article to submit your articles.
