I have always sucked bad at ranking on Yahoo for some reason. But what I have noticed is that I have 2 sites that have a link in wikipedia that rank decent in Yahoo.

Has anyone else experienced the same with links in wikipedia ranking better in Yahoo?

Thats interesting, perhaps yahoo is uses wikipedia as part of its algorithm somehow, just like dmoz or yahoo web directory! Who knows!

I noticed that a link from about.com have the same effect ( but this time for google eheh )

Friends, there can be various other reasons as well. If you tell me 2 of your websites (one that rank well and one that does not and the keywords for tespective websites) then probably I can tell you why.

Have some sites in Wikipedia and haven't noticed any kind of difference with sites that are not included and I'm talking about same category, same layout, same linkstructure, same competitive, same of everything kind of sites, only different regions.

So IMO they don't give any preference to sites that have links from Wikipedia.

<edit> to further specify why I'm thinking that...
Site A with wikipedia link: ranking 2
Site B withouth link: ranking 2

Site C with wikipedia link: ranking 10
Site D without link: ranking 10
