Greetings,
To my complete astonishment, when I checked the W3C for my site, and my Referrers, I found out that I recieve more traffic from Yahoo! rather than Google, which I suppose had never happened to my site. Well, I guess Yahoo!s new SE algo or something, thats led me higher than Google ever did. I'm surprised, but quite don't understand the mechanism. Any ideas?

If index position is too low in Google and yahoo rank is high (this is usual with many sites) you should receive traffic from yahoo.

Now with recent news about Yahoo & eBay.. It's going to be so nice again when Google has to loose up their policy and MAYBE YPN starts to make really money instead of pennies :)

intresting, may be coz of few keywords related to your website which should be having more search requests in yahoo, normally google is on top always with searches

Well, I guess Yahoo! is undergoing a major updation and it could be the reason, or otherwise probably like forumrating, my keywords would be more searched in Yahoo! than in Google. Well, I'd just worry about traffic, and be it Yahoo! or Google or Altavista. Is there going to be any new changes in Google, I heard. I suspect its a rumour?!

This must either be a joke, or Google hates you. Last month
I got 98,282 visitors from Goggle, and 9,021 from Yahoo.
I have been registered with Yahoo for 6 years now.
In August of 2000 I had 256 visitors from Google and 242
from Yahoo and they haven't been close since.
Since about March 2004 Yahoo has been running about 10%.
best regards

Yahoo! traffic is greaf for new websites. My site gets very targetted traffic from Y! but terrible traffic from G! right not probably because of age factor.

How old is the website in question? Google is very picky with "new" sites which goes into the whole sandbox theory and so on...Yahoo and MSN place importance on other areas like having a keyword in the URL are very important to them, they each (obviously) have their own mechanisms.

I find that MSN traffic converts better than Google, but still its amount is so dwarfed by google that google brings in far more sales.

no yahoo is not even close to being the most used or common search engine,
the reason yahoo has a higher alexa rating is more people visit yahoo than google....and that is because of its MAIL and FINANCE and ENTERTAINMENT etc

that could simply caused by your good ranking keyword/phrases on Yahoo. Actually Yahoo is not smart enough to pick up some spamming site quickly

Buddy, my site is over an year old. Well, I haven't done any drastic change either. And lately, my Google traffic is falling?! The Sandbox curse?
Well, I really can't figure out. I'm happy about the Yahoo! traffic. The problem is, the CTR rate of this type of visitors is kinda poor, unlike the traffic provided by Google. Yes, MSN and Mamma search are doing alright.
Is it Google or, its just my site?

ha ha! Ferrarislave. Join the club! Well, I guess this strange activity is due to faulty operation of some datacenters pertaining to Google, I guess. Which on rectification would steer us back to the traffic we used to get from Google. Hopefully, fingers crossed!
