$50 Web 2.0 logo contest

We are looking for a clean Web 2.0-ish looking logo for our corporate website. After the logo, a new design will follow, incorporating the logo's style. Site is threestonemedia.com and is due for a complete design change. Our primary business is SEO, but we still maintain a number of website development clients.

I'm not set on a size, something that does not take up too much vertical screenspace is preferred. I'm partial to greens but can be swayed with the right logo.

Would love a really cool logo, but it needs to remain professional as the majority of our current and potential clients are more conservative companies. The logo must be unique as it will likely be trademarked.

Winner receives $50 upon delivery of the PSD (we will retain all rights) -- PayPal payment

Contest ends May 21, 10pm EST -- but will be stopped early if we find the logo that just clicks. If nothing works for us, we will not pick a winner (I trust that will not be the case)

Just wondering how often people try to change the price of contests or ask for more for their work? I am not saying anything against you mate just wondered cos I noticed you did it before on a template contest.

For example, I know my layouts etc are worth more than the prize money on these contests (money isn't why I do it..) just wondered what your success rate is with asking for higher prizes.

Heh, I don't do it often. I do it when I feel like I made something exceptional or when that the contest price is a little low... I did it for the template contest because I don't make templates for under $150.00. And yeah, most of these contests, I enter not because of the money, but just to build trust and add some work to my portfolio.

Yeah, I am surprised more people don't do it actually! Don't think i'll bother though I don't like to seem arrogant (not saying you are..lol). If I did contests to make my living i'd be asking every time hah.

I agree completely.

Like you, I don't really do it for the money. I'm just really doing it to build my portfolio, and see if design is really the major I'm going to go for when I go to college.

The only reason why I don't enter low budget projects is because it seems a little cheap of the contest holders IMHO.

By the way, nice design @ untitled. Do you do vector now, or still stick with Photoshop?

The others are nice designs generally, just do not jump out at me. I think the only real feedback I can provide is that I prefer the graphics on the logo's be tied in to the design a little more in the case of the remaining entries. I'm also thinking I'm not really in favor of non-white backgrounds

Im sure I could give at least 2 different contests ive seen this in. Thing is people remove their designs when the contest is done. I have no reason to lie. Look at my posts then look at yours.. im sure people will know who to trust.
