What is the best length to keep your domain under for a quality domain? A six letter .com is nice right?

I'd focus more on quality of keywords rather than how many letters you're limiting it to. For example:

StudentLoans.com vs fdgdfe.com

Hope the example speaks for itself.

We agree,
Hello Logic here.
No hypens, use .com get a couple of words 2 but more then likely will take 3 words.
Be catchy.
Look at this that we did.
ViperGate.com or ManagedWebsiteHosting.com
1 is short the other is keyword driven, brings clients ready to buy and you can at least remember it until you type into your favorite search engine.

Keep them as short as possible but if a name has more meaning and is easier to remember in a longer version then consider that.

Seojoe is brandable for sure, but without any marketing to establish a brand, resale value would be close to regfee.

Having a long domain with several competitive keywords inside is quite pointless.

The best you can do is to get a domain name that means something or to be an acronym. Lenght does not matter too much if it is shorter than a mile ;)

The is no such thing as the best length. If it is a quality name than it doesn't matter if it's 6 letters or 20 letters. Go for quality, not length.
