Yahoo and web site traffic

I am just wondering if Yahoo takes into consideration the number of visitors when ranking their web sites?

well i dont think yahoo give a weight for websites depending on there traffic so i think the answer is no

I do not think a sites rankings in the serp will be affected in any way by the amount of visitors to the site.

I was asked about a yahoo hitbot years ago, perhaps 2001, about the technical implications, limitations, etc.

Yahoo does seem to track click thrus and stats about those click thrus (read: number of visitors to web sites) in determining rankings, in part.

As to whether they track third party stats? Like Alexa? Probably not.

But, uh, doesnt yahoo have a toolbar?

Sure, google says they dont track visitors. But who is to say what some of their developers may or may not be implementing, for real.

I am familiar with the contrarian tacticts of search engine media........I have personally witnessed conflicting evidence that poured from their spokespersons mouths. dont believe everything you hear at searchenginenews.

In closing, it is possible. But, it doesnt matter. Because you should be focused on getting the most traffic, anyway, period, organic and otherwise, and converting that and making a positive roi.

dont get too tied up in thinking about 'how a search engine ticks'. It aint going to hurt you to get the most traffic you possibly can (relevant, converting traffic that is), and therefore this particular 'tick' should be irrelevant.
