Blogcatalog help!!

does Google considers blogcatalog as a source of backlink. If i put the add my blog in profile page would it help in backlink?

I think nofollow and dofollow links are both considered as backlinks. The only difference is, dofollow will allow to pass the pr link juice while nofollow didn't.
