Indian HDFC bank netsafe card CANNOT VERIFY PAYPAL Account NOW - May 2008

I am writing this post on PAYPAL account verify by HDFC bank netsafe card related to a Indian HDFC debit card of a HDFC account.

In past I have verified PAYPAL unverified Indian accounts of me of PAYPAL by NETSAFE CARD of HDFC Bank which is related to my HDFC Debit Card

But now HDFC Netsafe cards cannot be used to verify PAYPAL accoutns. I have created almost 10 Netsafe Cards of HDFC.

But each and every card failed. because PAYPAL was unable to deduct 1.95 USD from that CARD, PAYPAL deducts this 1.95 USD fromthe card to verify it and redeposit it later in the account.

Also I could not use the NETSAFE cards to buy domain name from godaddy.com website..

I am in BIG DOUBT NOW - WHETHER HDFC NETSAFE CARD CAN BE USED FOR INTERNATIONAL SHOPPING OR NOT ???????????????

Yes I also faced the same issue yesterday.

Maybe its just paypal who has disabled netsafe cards for verification.

No, it´s almost every site which needs verification through CC. Seems MANY guys now lost their "biz" with selling HDFC cards for verification purposes

I also tried paying for something through paypal using netsafe card without creating a paypal account. In that case also it showed an error saying the credit card cannot be verified etc.

In January , Bidvertiser had stopped accepting Netsafe cards , seems other websites are also doing the same

yes HDFC blocked all Foreign site, Now onwards netsafe card will work for only Indian sites with Rs product. But @Hellfire81 i found alternative for netsafe :D

I think Kotak VCC still work with paypal,try it out.

Well it is big loss for Indians users. So now onwards Indians user cann't be able to verift by legal way of VCC. Only CC needs to verify accounts.

instead they have changed there verification process

first you link up the card its access your card once, then it ask you to go for verification so now paypal test your card two times

and since netsafe cards are valid only for one transaction they gets rejected next time

so that the problem

any other vcc that are valid for one time will also not work same way netsafe vcc does

only options left are buy gift card or real credit cards

Arjun i think you not saw my post, now netsafe card only work with Rupees site. i mean if you accept payment with rupees then netsafe card will work other wise it wont work.
so better go for Kotak VCC, i have this vcc and i found another card also for my safe reason

Getting back to the topic..now how do we verify paypal accounts(except ofcourse by cc)?
Next, does the vcc of kotak bank work on international sites(other than paypal)??

Today HDFC Customer Care had sent me a reply reg. this issue..

This issue typically occurs in US region acquiring web sites due to certain technical reasons. We are working on it and are expecting a resolution shortly. Until such time, we regret that the transactions through NetSafe would to be accepted on the site where the error was encountered.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
