Another new directory

I decided to start a real estate directory for the experience and to hopefully create a nice resource. It is www.real-estate-place.com.

It is brand new so any suggestions would be appriciated. Also would like to get on the directory lists.

You should populate the categories - not many will pay for inclusion to a brand new empty directory.. imo

That is where the site being listed also links back to the directory.

With the definition you give in the post above about the reciprocal links ... you are not giving away anything but sure are asking for others to link to you. Do you know how many free directories are out there that will glady accept sites in their real estate category. What is special about your directory? It uses a free template, it is new, and it is paid. Not a very good combo there.

If you are serious into this atleast get a decent looking design, start promoting your site...

Entirely get rid of that reciprocal option because I don't know if you know that Aviva Directory was penaltised and Matt Cutt reasoned because of the reciprocal box ... I am sure you don't want your new directory to be penaltised.

Sounds like good advise. I know that it looks pretty bad right now. I am working on getting it functioning first then pretty it up and finally promote it. My thought was to get some advise here and finish the functional stage before moving on to the cosmetic phase.

I have heard of Google penalizing real estate related sites for link swapping. I guess they serious about killing the practice.

To make money from a directory, you shall make it free and promote it to higher PR. To make a good money, at least PR6 in home page and PR2-5 in inner page is required.

Another thing is: free reciprocal link doesn't mean it's a free directory!
