Getting Lots of Bot Hits - Found its Google

I was checking an unexpected rise in online users .

Found the IP was actually of Google Org .

That hasn't happened before .
There were about 200-250 bot hits from different IPs within the two hours .

Anyone reporting same ?

Is this a brand new site? What was the user agent... googlebot? If it's googlebot, that's pretty typical although not at the same time. I would imagine your site is pretty big if you had that many googlebots crawling all at one time.

I have had 10 bot crawls within an hour on a big site once, but 200 thats a lot, dont you have any more info on the visitors, maybe even visitors length and where they exited to? some clues to see if its a crawler.

Wow 200 - 250 bot hits within two hours, I have never had this before, that's a good sign.

Maybe all the people at Google were checking out your site.
