i have about 450k pages of dynamic content, mostly in english

however, there are a good amount in other languages such as spanish

if i were to translate the non-dynamic text, including url, into spanish, would G consider the english content with spanish text duplicate content?

I agree with enous.

My nieces has a bilingual site (English-Spanish) sharing the same graphic material but written content being the same in essence is different because of different languages.

Her site is PR3 and has been online for 5 years now without being penalized ever.

It's a duplicate content filter not a penalty.

It shouldn't be a problem. The bots and algorithm checks the words and speelings, and since yours is in another language, the words and spelling are different.

Even if a human editor were to check it, I doubt that he will penelize you as you are actually giving quality information to even more people that way.

Rather doubt Google is able to check uniqueness across different languages

Google will not penalize you because it is in different language

i dont think i explained it well enough...sorry for the confusion

whereas the static content (home, register, etc) will be in differing languages, the main data is pulled from the same database and will be the same regardless of the domain it is being displayed on

does that make more sense?

I think it's allowed.

i.e. if you are going to copy content from russian language to english, not problems in that one, and vice versa.

It may cause no harm. I have also translated the content.

If you have content in different languages, then that is not duplicate content.

Hello everybody,
I hope it's allowed to take my question in this thread. But because it's a bit the same issue, I thought i would be no problem ;-)

I translated my Dutch blog article into English. Now I want to post this English article on Ezinearticles.com.
Will this be seen as duplicate content?
