$50 Need Web 2.0 Style for Software Company Logo

Logo needed for : iLink Solutions

Create a compelling corporate logo for premiere software company. It can
incorporate an image icon which is used in conjunction with the corporate
name (see above) or the full corporate name can be the logo with
appropriate design elements.

iLink Solutions is a developer of warehouse management software. The
software services the logistics & supply chain industry with a number of
high profile distributors and third-party logistics provider clients.

Linking data, items and resources throughout the warehouse and across
the enterprise (enterprise being the local warehouse /business or multisite
warehousing locations across the country).

Warehousing software also incorporates RFID, barcodes, barcode scanners
but this is for reference only to understand the motivation for the brand
being created – these elements (in their literal sense) should not be part of
the logo design as it changes the emphasis that this company is trying to
create.

Emphasis is placed on the " i " of company name and the then the word ‘link’ where ‘i’ represents the internet (and all the symbols that are associated with the web) which links the data, items and resources of a warehouse. THIS IS NOT A WAREHOUSE COMPANY but a software developer of warehouse management software – therefore traditional technology, software and internet imagery should be used – graphic arcs, waves, swirls, light emitting, etc. This logo must stand strong with other
software/technology companies.

Hey, Ariestoteles, it is different than your design, because: 1) The head of letter 'i' doesn't touch letter 'L'. 2) You have N and K letters one near other, but i have one symbol. 3) My design has other colours and different retreat between letters and word.

Such a blatant rip off man. You would never have thought of that at all unless you saw Aries' entry first. That constitutes a copy.

watari, Truck logo is absolutely not the same as in Ariestoteles, because coloured cars in different position and that colours are not owned by anyone so I had the right to use whic i want. Even if they present in someone's previous logo.

This design is like Ariestoteles, but not the same, and i believe that what i did myself is unique and is not someone's property. I came up with other concept by creating this logo so it is exclusive and original.

DaveyBoy, My logo is different with Aristoteles. You can say that any other logo is looks like like his design, my logo has different concept. I combined N and K letters because i wanted so, no one has the right to say "You have no right do this because I did it before you". The same thing is with "i' letter, no one has the right to say "I mad the head of i bigger, and now you have no right to do the same".

It is the same concept, that's all I was saying. The logo is almost identical and i don't think i'm the only person that thought Aries had submitted both. Moving your N and K letters together does not constitute a new concept.


The same thing is with "i' letter, no one has the right to say "I mad the head of i bigger, and now you have no right to do the same".


That is the main part of the logo, though. It's what saves Aries' logo from being simply some text on a canvas. You used the same concept, whether you admit it or not. If you had posted at the same time as Aries, you could be forgiven for having the same idea but not hours later.

You can keep defending yourself all you like, but I am allowed to express my opinions too.

Wow such controversy!!

MagicBoy, I have 15 years experience as a creative director and I have to agree that your design is suspicious, especialy in 2 threads both times after the same concept. I had a look at the truck thread mentioned here and there is more to it than you just using 3 trucks. you copied the arc, the name placement, the highlites and the colours.

And on this thread your design has the same dot on the i and the same NK grouped, as said completely similar if the font was the same. Colour is irrelevant, good design should work in B&W as well as colour I suggest you avoid further confrontation especially with well respected members of this board or you may find yourself no longer welcome.

Just an FYI, I post designs in here instead of doing them myself when its for friends or family, I hate designing for either one, and the fact that there are some really talented people here!!!

· The tag phrase under the name could say “connecting the warehouse”
· Can the puzzle piece be incorporate into the ‘i’ or…
· Can they incorporate conected puzzle pieces under each letter of the word ‘Link’
The concept is great, the font is clean, we are hoping to make the "i" more prominent and if the i was on the puzzle piece could it stand alone as a symbol for our company?

· Remove the octagon
· Maybe one version with the ‘i’ icon reflected to the right.
· Can they use a font that follows the curve of the ‘i’ icon.
· Would you mind displaying it on white, watermarks are fine

this puzzle piece is unique and is not from the defaults, the puzzle piece looks somewhat like a capital I.. and the circle above it completes the small caps i inside the puzzle piece.. hope your client gets my point of view.

Sorry that was all the input the client gave me so far, If I may offer up though that the logos you provided looked like they were from two different people, the first (red & black) wasnt really web 2.0 style and although I requested that the "i" was prominent I found it disappeared in that design.

The second design (green & grey) was much better and I thought it would get more interest, the use of the sketched "i" was cool, perhaps the name itself was a bit lost in this logo though.

Just my opinion, take it for what its worth. I think you should consider spending 10 minutes on the green and grey logo and resubmitting though. If the text was a bit bigger and perhaps the i was in a more complementary colour to the green they may take interest.
