If you get a link on a site that gets crawled often then your site should get listed very quickly.
I usually just place a link(s) on some of my sites that get crawled by spider (search bots) often

My first site got indexed within 1 week and google about 2 weeks, I vaguely remember what method it was that I used to get indexed fast since it was like 1 year ago but it involves a good xml and html sitemap, and a lot of pinging.

Slurp has been very busy on my new sites, and seems to stay that way in the last few weeks, but Y search has listed only a small fraction of the pages. How often does Yahoo add pages to it's index after spidering them?
Thanks,

You can submit a sitemap and build some quality backlinks to speed up the process.

Yahoo can be slower than Google or even MSN for indexing a new website but certainly, having links pointing at the new websites can help in getting them indexed faster.
