Anyone else notice huge swings in rankings the last couple of days for certain KW's ?? It is weird in the morning I am not ranking for some KW's and by around noon EST I have moved up to positions 1-3 for them by mid-night I am back out of the top 30 or so.
One of the KW's I never ranked for before and keep moving to 1 or 2 then at mid-night right out of the rankings again - the other KW I have ranked for before - and it moves up to #2 from 9 or 10 then back again.
I also noticed that I had a few hits - like 5 - for the word "sex" from google.uk on page 1 today then it stopped.
If they moved me up for that KW I would need a few more servers.

this is usual...
Google keeps updating its data very quickly and this results in new sites being added and removed..
what you experienced is what I experience daily..!!

I can't remember where exactly i saw the link-WebMaster World?- where Matt Cutts was discussing a new Google algorithm that would rotate results more frequently. I'll wait for someone else to confirm, since if it was something real, I wouldn't be the only one to have seen it.

For highly competitive keywords I like the idea of revolving results - spread the wealth so to speak. This appears to be already taking place in the middle of the pack.

My websites are coming up in the first position too. There are hundreds of big competitors and my websites are higher than those. It is very amazing. I love that.

Well there is same thing happening with mine Directory Submission Site www.dreamsubmitting.in
2 days before it was ranking on 1st page of keyword : directory submission services
But now in 3rd , sometime 4th or sometimes 5th..its was changing in few minutes..

My site has been constantly moving around in the serps but this has become a normal occurrence in google.

I can testify to that. I believe this is exactly what is happening to my site. Thank God I am not the only one. The last sustainable position I had was in february where I ranked #2 for a major competitive keyword. Now I am either on 3rd or 4th but have lost the #2 spot

We monitor a few searches every week or so just to make sure we are still on showing up. Kind of a thermometer check.
Beyond that we don't worry too much about the fluctuations... as long as they fluctuate back and forth and not just down... down... down... ;-)

No one seem to have come forward with the links, so here they are:
http://www.seroundtable.com/archives/016754.html
http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/3615693-3-30.htm
The update is being called Dewey, and if you look at the 2nd thread, Matt Cutts is asking forum members to test the algorithm and report DC discrepancies with the subject line, "Dewey."
I think this will make SEO easier and less competitive

For my keywords, SERPs have been fluctuating every 2-3 days for the past six months, at least. The current "dewey" results appear to be cleaner than many of the results sets I've seen in recent months.
I have two sites in the same industry. One of my sites has moved slightly higher, the other slightly lower. Both remain in the top 7 though. Overall, the current results look very good to me, knowing my industry as well as I do.

It's Google dance or Eveflux update which was last performed in 2003
It's no any kind of update in data centers.

I have noticed some very increased SERP ranking activity lately. Googles results have been slipping pretty badly for the past year or two and hopefully this new update will change that!

One funny thing i realised was 2 different computers (at same house, same internet line) shown different serp result, one 1st and one at 2nd position for same keyword. I was not too concerned about that and what i concerned much was my backlinks dropped from 6000 to 3000 in one week, and just now i checked only 2500 left. ??? Earthquake is coming????

I noticed the same sort of thing - in my stats program I can go to the exact search that the user used to reach my site - when I first click I get the same results the user did if I refresh the results are different and this is in a matter of minutes not the next day.
