Hello,
If I purchase a domain name off Go Daddy, after how long will it be activated?
(Perhaps existing Go Daddy customers will be able to answer this question better.)
The reason I am asking is because I want the domain name to commence/expire on exactly my birthday. :D
Also, will the purchase date/time be according to Arizonian time (where the Go Daddy headquarters are located) or my time zone?
Thanks in advance.

From what I understand, it would be active and considered registered exactly a few minutes after you complete the purchase arrangement.
As far as I know, in the Whois details, it does not include the Time but just the date based on UTC/GMT +0000 time.

Maybe 6-12 hours at most so nameservers are propagated.

If your trying to hit a certain time window don't underestimate the looong godaddy checkout process as they constantly try to upsell you during checkout, im so sick of that!

Thanks guys. :)
From what has been said, it seems like activation is a few minutes afterwards most of the time, and the time being GMT.

i was just thinking that if the domain you want is at all half decent you should consider grabbing it now and commemorate your b-day with a site or something else. Just the act of searching for an available domain can sometimes be detected and your domain may be taken before your b-day.
hopefully its something obscure that only has personal meaning to you so it wont be in demand by poachers.

Yes, it gets activated soon after registration.
