How "private" is the private massage?

Not very, last time I went for a private massage the place was raided and my picture was put in the paper on on the local news. Be careful;)

An admin could easily look at the Pms in the mySQL database. I think there is a vBulletin mod that makes is possible for admins to easily look at your private PMs.

actually i don't worry about it.
the reason i bring it up is because one guy bought a link from me. He insist that i shall not leave any evident that he bought a link from me (strange...)

just wonder if mod or admin can view private massgeA mod can't. If you want to get technical, an admin can (as would be the case with any forum that someone had direct access to the MySQL database/tables). Certainly does not mean I do. I don't even have time to read my own PMs most of the time.

Private messaging does not necessarily mean secure messaging. It just happens to be sent to one recipient but does not guarantee it can't be read by someone else.

As is normally happening in the Internet... that is why there are these encryption services and the like.. I won't worry about it though. If it ain't very sensitive I won't mind it read by the admin.
