Seems like some people on this forum are a bit trigger happy with the negative feedback. I got a couple of them recently and was pretty surprised since i consider myself a positive contributor to the DP community.
One of the negative feedbacks i got was because i made a joke because the person who started the thread made a mispelling he wrote, "Asvice needed" you can probably guess my joke, and i can understand if someone didnt appreciate my sense of humor, but I find it impressive that they were so digusted with my joke that they took the time to give a negative feedback with the comment, "You and your bad jokes better start over."
Another was outright uncalled for. I responded to a question and apparently didnt understand the question fullly, so my post appeared off-topic. But i got a negative feedback with the obscene comment, "stay on topic and read the fucking manual http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php" - i didnt think that was necessary.
It's not that I am really concerned about my little green square in DP turning to red, it just seems that some people are quick to give negative feedback, and I think from now on, i'll be quick to give positive feedback. Most of you have similar experiences?

don't worry, the age of red rep is gone after the reputation cost system is up
feel free to joke around or dis anyone, not much ppl would loss rep point to rep u

We all get Neg Reps in our life, but that doesnt mean that we all should hide our faces like that.. :)

My Suggestion - Don't complain about reps. Fryman never complained about his lost rep points ;)

sometimes we can't please everybody or sometimes misunderstandings will occur and sometimes peeps just not on the mood to receive jokes that were really not for them... maybe you could tell them that it wasn't address to them or there was a misunderstanding... i also encounter that kind of situation but i just pm them and be cool with them.

Humorouse update: Since creating this thread i have received a couple more reps. 2 green and 1 red. Here's their comments - I'll let you guess which one is red:

Not to worry. I just red repped that white tiger prat. He red repped me back but hey, at least I leave my name to give the the opportunity. If your reppers won't put their names on the comments, they are not worth listening too, are they?

I usually leave my name after the comment also I hardly red rep anybody here. Still I do red rep wehn and where necessary :D
