I have a question. I have a website that I'd like to SEO to get more traffic.
I have learned that content is king... so, I decided to make a wordpress blog. Do I make a fresh blog with a new domain name so it has a different IP or do I just do mywebsite.com/blog?
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to get more exposure and traffic to your blog with heavy contents, then its better to have anew domain, which matches with the mood of your contents and articles of your blog. Bur if you just want to have a blog for normal reasons, then you can have it at your domain only inside a directory called blog.
SO wordpress is the ultimate solution for it.
If you want,i can set up everything for you and will also SEO it for you[little extra charge].
I will also let you know all the details of your traffic in your own blog only.
So cheer up mate.
Its time to get a good blog for you.
Will do it for you.
Thanks..

I sent you a message on AIM.
I don't want a blog for normal reasons... lol- I want a place that I can wire music gear reviews that google will like and show up on the first page. Bringing traffic to my main site.
I think I will install it on mywebsite.com/blog/
some webmasters do blog.mywebsite.com. What is the difference if any?

I dont receive anything any msg bro..
I have added you to my AIM buddy list.
MY AOL Mail is gothictouch69@aol.com
So add it up from your side..
And if you need it to get a good PR site, then get it into yourdomain.com/blog
It would be better and you will also get a good PR with little efforts.
And there is no difference in domain.com/blog and blog.domain.com
The former is just a directory inside that domain directory while the latter is a sub-domain for that domain.
Got my point???
Now lets start working ...

Hm.. Correct me if I'm wrong but G treats subdomain as a different website, right?
I personally use domain/blog. Launched subdomain.domain but ... almost two weeks have passed, and G didn't make any effort to index it. ;-/

Depends.... as for example.... a free hosting's subdomains aren't considered to be treated same as the subdomain.
However, for a site whose subdomains are focused on the same area... they are considered to be of the same root ;)

Sort of.... Google normally treats the subdirectory as an individual site.
