1300+ Free Directory List - Cleaned and Updated

Just a reminder that my free web directory list (http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php) has over 1300 directories seeking submissions. :D

I made some major changes to the directory list to improve quality and make it much easier to submit to. The list is updated 3-4 times a week at a minimum, so it is easy to find new directories.

I hope you find it a good resource. Feedback is always appreciated.

Why do people feel the need to re-invent the wheel? There's loads of directory lists already out. Your time might have been better spent on adding decent sites there instead. ?

I submit my sites and client sites to Web directories. The list that is posted on my site is what I personally use. If you want to bust my balls for sharing the list, go right ahead. Because in all honesty, most of the other free directory lists you speak of contain loads of paid directories, dead links, parked pages, etc.

Maybe your time would be better spent busting someone elses balls?

Dan and Manish have some respected directory lists, and I have high respect for both of them. Shabu has the best paid directory list as well.

In my OP I did not post a new directory list - it's been around much longer then you have been a member of this forum. And it has more free general web directories then most lists, including those you noted. :p

If I did not know better, I would think you are trying to bump your post counts. :D

Given the volatile nature of the directory industry, I can only applaud your effort as it's a worthwhile contribution.

Good luck and I hope that you'll continue the hardwork you are putting into this. The directory world is certainly big enough to warrant another attempt at a decent, well maintained list.

My focus is on providing a clean and quality list, which as we all know is hard to do with free directories turning paid so quickly.

Not a terrible list, though if you wanted to make it useful instead of just showing page rank, you should show external link data, cache date, number of indexed pages, whether they are likely to list your site, etc...

That's a good idea, but for a free directory list I'm not sure it matters as much as it would for a paid directory list. I will defintely keep your feedback in mind moving forward. :)

That list has a huuuuuge traffic. I think a banner will work just great there, you traffic is just huge :eek:

Yes, there are 125 x 125 banners spots available. The cost is $20 per month, which will display your banner to many thousands of webmasters and directory submitters.
