Hi Guys

I feel my site is really being left behind because of my competitors excellent rankings. I am at a point where I really need to build links as fast as I can but I really need some advice on what is the maximum number you should build each month.

An SEO company told me a 100 a month otherwise Google doesnt like it?? On a thread in the forum someone is talking about building 1k inbound links a week?

Please advise also any tips on getting good quality backlinks would also be very helpful

Regards and thanks in advance

The more the better :)
I personally have built thousands per month. (100 is a good quantity per day maybe).
But of course your site should not be brand new when doing that - in that case you should act a bit slower IM
HO.

cheers

500/month is your limit. If site not new then enlarge your count up to 1000/month

I read on some blogs and link-building ebooks that if your site is a brand new site then start building 10 - 20 backlinks/day then after a couple weeks start to increase bit by bit. The thing is, I haven't find a really effective way to even build 10 - 20 backlinks/day!! I learned some blackhat ways but I don't think I am going to implement them as I don't want to get banned from any SEs.

Would you guys mind to share some tips and tricks on building backlinks the whitehat way? At the moment I am doing these 3 techniques: blog commenting (those with dofollow tags), forum sig, and link exchange.

What do you consider new?

It's all relative. I would consider less than 6 months is new, some might say 1 year. Everyone will have differing opinions.

I would suggest that you should start out slowly with link building and gradually increase the links per day over time. Try to find a way that your users will be the ones adding the links to your site. This way, the links will be natural and you will not have to spend so much time adding links.

yea, a site is new when it is within 6 months of its creation, and thats when google cares most about putting you in the sandbox

As far as they come from quality sites, it won't be a problem.
Sure, spamming around your link and having a new domain could penalize you a bit.
