uk and usa dilemma

Question for anyone doing affiliate marketing.

If you want to build a site with an international audience particulary targeting US and UK how do you choose shops to advertise?

eg if i was doing camera reviews I know what uk shops I would want on site
to point people towards but then no US visitors would ever buy anything.

Do I need to sign up to a US affiliate scheme (is this possible) and have 2 ads on the page one for a link through to uk shop anothe image/link to a US shop ?

ideally I'd have two different shop fronts, where you simply either have a link to a US based shop face for your affiliate partners, or you could use geo coding to check which country the user is coming from to redirect to the correct partner page / shop front.
