View Full Version : Why not reputation in the general and political section?

Before Shawn removed the rep feature in general/political section, I had more than -200 in reputation. Now I am a bit greener, but the thing is that I make more than half of my posts in the general/political section and therefore I can't see the true color on the reps in the control panel. Too much grey reps isn't nice too see.

The problem with reputation in the mentioned sections is that people go and redbang some people that have an opinion that doesn't fit theirs. Mayby we could still allow rep in that section but making it a bit softer. Supergreen users shouldn't be able to put down a user in the mud. I'd say that we skip the weight in the sections but keep the feature on, ok?

It is a risky move. As you said, anyone posting something contorversial would be in problems. Lets say you post that you are pro-nazi. I am sure you would get bombed with red reps for giving your opinion.

But reading your post it seems that you are saying that the color of the rep should show in your cpanel, but the weight of them shouldn't be counted, am I right? I don't think that would be an easy hack to do.

Well, you do know this is a webmaster forum and not a political forum right?

You can rep in those sections... they just aren't worth as much.

Yes but they turns grey, hard to know if it was a green or a red.

they just aren't worth as much.
Ok, that's how I wanted it to be, a little weight, but not too much :)
