Massive Directory List?

Hey People,

having worked on seo projects for just over a year now i have a large amount of free directories i use. what i was thinking is if i made a page of all the directories i have for anyone to use as they wish would people be interested?

the idea is people can leave comments on each directory (e.g. no longer free/ email verification) and also people who use the system can post there own directoys for people to share.

would a massive constantly updated directory page be used by people here.. if there is enough interest ill get on it :D

for now ill be doing an example on my gaming site www.xninelivesx.com

To be honest, and i hope you dont take this the wrong way, that it would probably be a duplicate of the many lists out there already, you couldn't keep a massive list up to date, even with the help of others.

You can make a massive lists, but an up to date one i assure you it wont be.

Even one of the most recommended sites for a list is not cleaned up as expected.

the largest directory list i have seen is 1000 and i hav more than that. and if it had enough users they would keep it up to date.. if they wanted it to work that is.. yes of course some would not work.. but if they were reported it would help others.. so far 1 negative to this idea :p any possative?

an0n will be working on the free lists and flash and one thing that was stressed is a method to
know when a free directory goes paid and if it is asking for a reciprocal back-link and the solution
was found and will be implemented soon enough. ;)

That sounds cool, you can understand my lack of belief in keeping up to date, if you have something you can put in place its perfect, will make a world of difference, i think sometimes people lose faith in a list when their going through and finding free are now paid as i imagine one of the reasons for them being attracted to a list is for quickness and stats all in one place.

Dont take it as a negative, im not knocking your idea ;) its just my past understanding of the difficulty for most, good luck if you can do it.

We dont charge anything for the list or to be included in it and myself and a few others add sites ourselves normally...
The list is for OUR directory submission services but share it with those that would rather do it themselves ...

PS... nobody will stop you from doing it but remember that theres at least 10 listers that come to mind immediately...

Well the site isnt even close to being done nor are the lists complete :)

Like i mentioned above we have a way to where we can find out immediately
if the site has changed its method of "accepting sites" or if the "domain has been
canceled or dropped" and will be implementing this as soon as an0n has the time.

all flames... keep up the good work with the free directory-list. It would be great for each directory to have == pagerank()

1000 is actually a small list. Many Directory lists offer thousands of directories. Check DirectorySnob.com (http://www.directorysnob.com) - 22,000 Directories.
