nah, i dont think so.
if you create one site at every of those hosts, you'll have shitload of sites, all with different IPs...if you link them all together, they'll all get PR2-3
when they do, you can use them for quality backlinks

That is a huge list. Thanks for sharing that.
I am not sure if all those sites will help you to produce any dramatic results. But I feel there is nothing wrong in trying.

You might think this method is cheap, time wasting and make internet dirty. However, it works. It's good for targeting key phrases. It takes a bit of time to register but once is done then is done. You can make your content more profession so it doesn't looks like a spam.

Don't many of these free hosts only last a year or so and then go out of business, and all their sites disappear from the web?

Yeah. Like the internet all nice and clean now?!? :)

I think it is worth a try. I have heard about sites disappearing. Is it because you don't login for long time??

Qryztufre
Mar 12th 2008, 6:47 am
If you actually ad something useful to those sites, as in make them not just sales pages, actually add in something worthy of being shared, then it will not make the internet all that bad of a place.

Don't set them up like a blog network, actually make each site "individual" free from duplicate content and content rich. A short article or three on each one complete with links interlocking your various other pages, then it can and will work, but it'll take time... and will likely be cheaper then those duplicate blog networks and have more power then link farms.

NOTE: I think you forgot Googlepages. http://pages.google.com/

Every day people create long tail keyword auto generated sites. The objective is to pretty much get thousands of pages indexed. I know people who run over 1000 of such sites.

Back when I thought Geocities was the way to go (like in the early 90's) I attempted to try others once Geocities started to add those annoying moving ads and popups. I found that many free hosts would "break" now and again... most of the time they were fixed in a few hours (or days) I reccomend if you are going to try this method, then simply moved passed any broken/breaking ones, as you would while submitting to free directories (many of which are also broken).

After all, heh, you are getting what you pay for, an in the case of free pages, well, the cost is $0.00 (well, there is time I guess)

I think it's a bad idea to create web sites for the sole purpose of building backlinks to another site.

And I think it's a bad idea for you to have 4 spammy sig links all to the same site.

There is no problems other than the massive amounts of time it requires to do this. Outsourcing would be the way to go for this type link building ... anyone want to drop me a quote I'd love to purchase this service but wouldn't take the time to do it myself.

A couple of tips:
- Make the page original somehow
- Keep the pages themed (ex. dogs, dogfood, dog training, bark collars, pet flea remover, etc)
- don't overdo the linking, link to other sites as well but not your competition (duh)
- go drop some spammy links to these pages you create. This will help with the link juice and getting them spidered so all your links show up.

Also, If you spam links elsewhere "cleaned" by a decent content site .... sort of like laundering money only done to net links.

Despite of all the worries whether this method will work or not, adding more dump to the cyber world, that is defintely a really nice list of free hosting site. Well done, pal!

Out of the whole list, I only use google page now. G will index its own site first, i bet.

Cheers guys. Ya I forgot to put Google Pages into it.

Microsoft Office Live for small business is another good one. It even gives you FREE DOMAIN NAME;);)http://office.microsoft.com/

To someone who think this is bad idea for link building, yes it is bad idea and time wasting indeed. At least it is better than submit link to link directory sites. You even need to pay for some high PR link directory sites too. They just sit back and watch their Paypal account growth by doing nothing or just one click for approval. How greedy is that.

I can't see any reason to pay for those suckers for just adding a link on their site? Internet has full of free resources. I rather pay for ghost writers rather than link directories. Let ghost writer turn my articles into 10 different version (Of course you can ghost writing by yourself if you have time). Put on 10 different websites but all link back to my original sales page or websites. Use joint venture social bookmarking method to digg, stumble, delicious...etc on all of my 10 different websites. Imagine the potential, how cool is that.

I'm sure that can guarantee your original sales page get indexed within 36 hours and build some traffic.

Is doing this method safe or black hat?

So long as you are actually contributing to the web as a whole then there is no difference in this and submitting to directories and article hosting sites.

Though please, actually contribute. Make sure your pages are actually helpful to the world at large.

This is a great idea for link building. if you just create a bunch of spam pages, it probably won't help you out much anyway. But, if you provide great content (which should be the idea of all link building) then you are able to create some great results.

The idea with a list like this, is to use your geocities page, to link to your squidoo page, which then links to your Main page you are promoting. By intertwining all of the links, it helps to increase the PR of each of the pages that you create, which if some are linked to your main page you're promoting, then you'll be able to increase the popularity and PR of your main site.

if all of the pages you create link to your main site only, then you're making more work for yourself.

I'm often a bit slow to catch on, but could you please explain what to do here?

I already have my main site and a squidoo lens set up. Do I take these new sites (with fresh content) and link them to the squidoo site, or do I link it to my main site?

The purpose of doing this is to increase the PR of my main site, so I'm trying to get my head around this as best I can.

Promoting your site by promoting someone else's (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=390166) explains it for the most part...

If you create a bunch of 'free pages' and randomly interlink them to your main page, and then spend some time promoting those free pages, your backlinks will increase, and traffic all the way around will increase. Which of course will indirectly (and directly) effect your page rank through the various ranking systems out there (Google, Alexa, Compete etc).

One way to promote your 'free pages' would be to first of all have content worthy of being read. Once they are worthy of sharing, then simply share them... you can get a few tips here: How to get backlinks from forums and blogs and not be labeled as a spammer (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=511721)

And remember, the main Search Engines want things to look as natural as possible, so always keep in mind, What Would Mother Do? (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=339555)

The method of using 'free pages' is a false method of pushing natural linking methods, which takes SEO as you know it and shoves it deep into the early 90's when link exchanges and pointing to 'friends pages' was the best method of getting traffic to your site. So take a look back to the old school blogs and apply them as best you can by interweaving them into the SEO tips of this century.

Another VERY important point is to make all of the pages and link methods content rich. Unique content all the way around is the ONLY way to go. If you grab up 100 free pages and then simply spam them, then no one wins. Your crappy free page will remain crappy and will likely not move passed a PR0 which will make such a page not worth the effort of creating. Whereas, if your free page is something worth paying for, then you run the chances of having that page take off on it's own... or at least getting recognized by a few people which may link to it as well...so I can not stress enough, that such pages NEED content that is worth reading.

Create larger free pages into actual sites, then submit those sites to directories, build each one to a PR1-PR3 page, and that is not all that hard. Those pages will certainly show a stronger return on the time it took to make them...

Chances are you can not place any ad networks on them, but heh... be adventurous, and maybe sell a few links. You may find the sites can pay for your time as well.

Will these links worth much ?

If you just make a free page and put a link on it, then it'll count as any other PR NA link... build your free page up to something worth checking out, and it'll count much much more. It falls down to ROI, the more you invest, the more you'll see in return. Just making the page though will not do all that much, especially if that's where your time on it ends.

here is a PR 4 page: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/7109/
and a a PR5 http://www.geocities.com/~olelo/home.html

If you think there is no value in free sites, think again ;)

I've made 4 or 5 free websites with all duplicate content from each other. They have a link on every page to my main website and i have stumbled/social marked the pages as well.

Is this a good way of doing this? The content IS good but it IS duplicate.

Thanks

In short, no this is not a good idea. Chances are that the duplicate content will push most of the sites into the supplemental index and reduce/remove any value from the links. At least twist the content somewhat, so it isn't completely duplicated.

This method definitely works, I know certainly since from using it for many of my sites, they are ranking high for their keywords. There was a recent software on the market that creates a lot of sites on different hosts, you just place a link on the sites to your money site, get them indexed, and the link juice flows.;) Its expensive and the owner only sold it exclusively to a limited amount of people, and luckly I've got a copy.:D He is not going to sell it to the public anymore.

I'm willing to sell a copy for $50 (which is a generous discount) to only 7 DP members. (payment by paypal). If interested PM me for details.
