We got this site runing AdSense pages and seems to do quite good with google (in 2 month time we are runing); about 80 - 120 visitors a day from google; also msn sends 50-70 a day; but yahoo seems to drive 0-5 visitors a day, for the last 7 days?!?! what could be wrong????!

Titles, descriptions, ??? what?!

Thanks in advance,
Sandis

Can you explain me how differs yahoo from google?

Say for google is enough to have serious internal linking + drive good links to overal site to rise the PR and site reputation. What's about yahoo?

I'm having the very same situation with a site right now. Yahoo lists only 18 pages out of 200+, while MSN and Google report more accurate values and getting good results in their SERPs. I'd credit it to the newness of the site rather than anything else. My site is also 2 months old and I think Yahoo has recently implemented a new site penalty (or increased its duration/effect), like Google's sandbox. I'm just submitting regular sitemaps to Yahoo and waiting it out.

You are the 2nd person who says about new site waiting time, maybe you're right, because other site using the same CMS and almost the same templates just on different subject, does gets yahoo searches like 30%.

Let's see how it goes on ;)

Anyway, like Brad Fallon's www.MyWeddingFavors.com was rating #1 in all - yahoo and google & msn, but yes, he has 1000's of links and the site is up from 2004 jan. so maybe, maybe ;)

I guess that you can get your site ranked well in all three, which are Google, Yahoo and MSN.

But for some people they find it hard to get good rankings in all three. The main reasons for this is because they all have different ways of ranking sites. If they all used the same type of ranking algorithum then there would be no point in using the 3 of the search engines as all of the searches would give the same to nearly the same results.

I think Yahoo usings metatags more than Google. Infact, I think Google totally ignores metatags apart from the title.

Yahoo uses more its web directory as part of its algorithm than google ( i doubt ), and google seems to use yahoo web directory as part of its algorithm but yahoo do not use dmoz as part of its algo... The onpage optimization of your website is the same for all of the search engines. But the offpage optimization is different on some sides if you plan to rank correctly on all the majors search engines :)

I know couple of good samples that ranks well in all engines;

what I think, that when we go for google, we keep quite high keyword densities or maybe too low so in order to rank in both we have to outcompete the kompetitior with 10'000 links from which is like 60% keypharse with something like 20'000 links, from where we have 12'000 keypharse and 8000 other keypharsrs (kinda, do go lower on optimization but go more on volumes)
of course, it is not tested ,but it makes for me to sound logic;
