Can someone tell me why my backlinks keep coming and going. One day i had 350 then the next day i had none. Yesterday i had 85 and today i have none again. I am using the backlink checker on "iwebtool" by the way.

This is something that google does, they only show a small
percentage of the backlinks for any given url and the amount
of links they show fluctuates from time to time. I wouldn't worry
about it if I were you.

wierd I thought backlinks effectited your page rank . If that statement is true not having backilinks in google means no pagerank . So that might be a reason to worry.

Yes, but Google doesn't show all of your backlinks. Just because you use link:site on Google and it shows X amount, doesn't mean your backlinks have changed.

Yeah, Google just basically takes a snapshot at a random point in time to what it determines to be your backlink repository. It's somewhat unfair, but a lot more efficient than digging through every single website on the internet. Just try to increase your ranks and eventually it will be a non-factor to be missing 15% of your registered backlinks

Google never has shown all of your backlinks. Yahoo usually shows most of them, though.

iwebtool backlink checker tool sucks because it does not recognise the nofollow.

If you have thousands of links use Google Webmaster Tools outbound links csv download and feed it to the tool in the signature below (must register to do that)
For up to 1000 links use Yahoo SiteExplorer and the online (no register) tool for anchor text, page title, page heading, total page links, ip, and the domain page credited with the backlink
Good way to id competitors sites too!

I might have the wrong attitude, but instead of tracking links I already have I would rather spend my time getting more links to the site.
