Hey all.

Well after setting up my site and having somebody design it to look really good; I have actually decided on using a CMS instead.

My needs are as follows:

- Blog
- Static pages

AND

- Full and easy integration with phpbb

OR

- a cms with a good forum module with it (which I've not really come accross yet)

I really like my phpbb forums and would like to keep them but if there really is a cms with a good forum module with all the trimmings then I'm sure I could settle for that.

I am currently using Drupal but it's phpbb integration has me baffled on installation and I hear about too many bugs which can effectively lose me members and business.

Recommendations anyone?

Tyvm in advance!

Lex

Subrdreams is fab to go with forum software it really is so would look into that and am sure they have a few mods out there to sort the blog out I know they have a great articles section.

http://www.subdreamer.com/

Either way it's not to expensive and worth checking out :D

joomla (http://www.joomla.org/)

you can have static pages

they are good blog components for joomla
mojoBlog (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,3374/Itemid,35/)
My Blog (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1698/Itemid,35/)

you can integrate phpbb with joomla
or
use FireBoard Forum (http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,2134/Itemid,35/)

I also would like to recommend Joomla (http://www.joomla.org/). You can try this (http://smartshitter.com/) module for the PhpBB integration.

Hope that helps.

i would also suggest joomla + phpBB

but if you're more interested in wordpress have a look into integrating with their own forum script http://bbpress.org/

Subdreamer goes beyond integration though it gives you site the same look and feel all over :D

Blends you whole site skins your forum with the click of a button :D
