Linking technique question

Hi,

I have 2 sites using the same account under a shared hosting plan. The sites offer similar services but each has its own take on the subject. I was thinking I would link these site through a link in the footer. Would search engines consider this a bad linking technique, especially since they are hosted together?

I was wondering the same thing but I don't think that it's a bad linking technique. If you look at other sites who have the same owner, they usually link to each other, my blogs usually link to each other. I've seen dozens of website owners do this and I've never heard it to be a bad linking technique...at least I hope so. :D

if the contents are the same subject, but different contents, you can link to each other.

I think it won't hurt your site because the link is relevance and you don't have to worry about the hosting.
