Google Webmaster Tools doesn't like my homepage

In Google Webmaster Tools external link section, I have about a dozen pages (38 links) from my site showing some backlinks...but my homepage is not listed. I know I have about 800+ backlinks to the homepage, some recip and about 400 from directories. Why doesn't Google show my homepage?

For the longest time, Google's webmaster tools refused to acknowledge that I had any backlinks to my site at all, even though I knew I had 500 or so. Then after a PR update they all showed up.

I've given up expecting that backlink list to be anything like reliable.

was like that for me also cause i know that the amount of links i have put out there are far greater then what is reported.
