I am starting a site in the next week or two. At this time, I am about to begin exchanging links. As I go through the process, I need to make sure that I'm working effectively. I want to make sure that if I have ???? links, than I should expect to see PR... If I do not have that PR, this way I know when I need to change or improve my techniques.
How many links did you have at the time you went from PR0 to PR1, PR1 to PR2, etc? Also, please let us know how long it took to achieve this.
(I know it will not be the same for everyone.)
I'm reading that SEO is a long process. If you had early success, tell us more about what you did differently than the rest of us so that we can use your tips.

It depends on the quality of links as well...Usually PR1 is pretty easy to get...

Quality of Content, internal link structure, and One way link from different directories. these three thing matters in getting PR.
It doesn't matter that how many links you have? but how many quality links you have.

If you have one pr7 or pr8 (easy to get from social bookmarking site) youll get at least that. PR1 is easy, in fact I've never been able to get it before (lowest I got was from N/A to PR3, most of the time I go from N/A to PR4 on my new sites).

Many of the social bookmarking sites are 'nofollow' (so don't pass juice along) and getting on the front page of Digg and the like is not all that easy.

doesn't matter...you can get to a pr3 pretty easily actually with just a few backlinks...

But you need to get out of your sandbox first to get a pr :D

I recommend, this is not just the NUMBER game, PR always cares for internal link quality, and inbound link quality. So if you have quality links, you'll gain good PR not before.

Hi,
I am not doubting your figures, but are you sure that all you need to get PR10 is a link from 15 PR10?
It seems a bit low, I would have thought that you would need more than that.

I've found that PR1-3 is easy to get. When you reach PR4 that's when you know you're doing something right!

Actually, I think that amnezia was just joking, 42 is Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Answer_to_Life%2C_the_Universe%2C_and_Everything)

I have over 2,427 Links on Yahoo and none on Google. How do I get
links on Google too? My page rank on Google is obviously 0 :(

I get a much higher PR than the sites in your sig with my MFA sites by submitting them to social bookmarking sites only, so believe what you want...

hehe the number might seem low
but i think you are slightly underestimating the power of a PR10
Yahoo isn't even a PR 10
Imagine Adobe Apple Google NASA W3C and 10 more all pointing to your site on their front page - wow
