About Us/Privacy Policy Popups Quality Score

I'm creating a landing page for a lead generation campaign and I was wondering if anyone had any input on the about us/privacy policy and other credential type pages which will be linked from the landing page.

I was thinking of making the privacy policy, about us, and terms and condition pages pop-ups so that I don't have to send them off to a page without a form/copy on it. Would making these page popup effect how google judges the landing page's QS? Is this a good option to try and keep people from straying to away from your sales copy?

i dont think google judges that in QS if the page opens in a new window, however the users might find it annoying a new window or tab opens up any time they click a link. It could turn out to be more detrimental to your campaign then allowing the page to load as normal.

If a new window opened every time i clicked a link, i would probably just leave the site all togeather

Just put the links to those pages at the footer of your page in a smaller font and a lighter color

Be sure not to make the font toooo small or tooooo light colored so that google doesn't penalise you for trying to hide links

I would go 1-2 fonts smaller than the content on your page and 1-2 shades lighter, Just be sure that you are clearly able to see them

99% of people will never click on those links

i agree these links are not something to get to crazy about since most people will not click on them. However I do not agree with any clolor shading or size changing.

Any inconsistent coloring and sizing in the footer from regular body text is a sure flag.

Not true, I've been doing it for years without any problems

im not saying you cant do it, I just wouldnt give google the slightest reason to look at my account, nor would I want to false imply any skepticism. I am sure you can get away with it in 99% of all cases...

With all due respect robertpriolo, and no offence intended... It's not really important whether or not you agree with it, what's important is whether or not the search engines agree with it

And I can tell you that if it's done within reason (as I mentioned in my initial post) the search engines will have NO problem with it
