Hello,

I have started a campaign 3 weeks ago and I have set the daily budget at $3000/day. However, it seems it can not go more than $200/day.

For testing purposes, I have created other campaigns with a minimum of $1000 to $3000/day, same problem, my daily spending is always around $100 to $200

I wish to spend more to get more traffic, but it seems to limited to $200 per day

Anything wrong in my side?

thank you

Hi,
That might happens because of lots of reasons.
Keywords not popular.
Creatives not attractive.
Time when ads are shown is limited.
Bids are not high enough.
Geographic limitations.

And I think that reasons listed above are not last ones.

You could try going to 'Tools' on the Campaign summary page and choose 'Keyword Tool'. Type in some of your keywords and you'll get an estimate from Google of how many searches there are for those keywords (as well as how much competition there is to bid on these terms). You can also use the traffic estimator tool.

Remember though that these tools only provide estimates.

thank for your reply, but do you know what would be the main factor? In this way, I would focus much harder on this aspect.

Hi Toast,

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I used the "traffic estimator tool" and it says Im supposed to spend around between $200 to $600 per day and estimate the number of clicks at 1,938 - 2,908

Strangely, Im very far from this estimation. How accurate is this tool?

how old is your adwords account?

My account has been created on December 13th 2007. So a few months old. Could this have an impact?

Perhaps if you use the Keyword Tool rather than the Traffic Estimator tool you could see what month the biggest searches are for your terms. It is an optional column you can show in the results. Are your keywords seasonal?

what positions are you showing up?
Do you have geo targeting on?
Can you post some of the keywords you are bidding on?

If your budget is set at $300, Google will do everything it can to make it so you don't go over that amount. Once you start getting to the $200 level, they'll slow down the rate at which your ads show.

Try raising your daily budget to about $1000 and just watch it very closely for a few days to see what happens. If it looks like its going to spend too much, then pause the keywords. The key is giving it that headroom to go higher if it wants to.

oops, I misread your numbers. I would say it has to do with the keywords themselves... as several other people here have mentioned.

yes, it might. google starts every one with $50 daily credit limit. once you hit $50, google charges your card and in next day or 2 they bump your daily credit to $200. i think thats where your credit limit is at right now. one you hit $200, google will charge yor card and increase your daily limit to i think $350 and then finally $500. so in a day or 2 your daily credit should go up to $350

It's got everything to do with the age and history of your account. Google doesn't let people come in and spend $3,000 in one day because they dont' know if you can afford to pay that bill yet. You need to establish credit history and payment history before they'll open the flood gates. It's like getting a new credit card and wanting a $100,000 limit when you have no proof of income or credit history. No bank will do that. They will start you off lower and you can work your way up eventually.

the adwords traffice estimator is pretty inaccurate. it has been off so many times. that is the general consensus.
