301 redirect old domain to new exception homepage of old domain

is there way to doing 301 redirect from old domain to new domain
but exception homepage of old domain
I mean if you go to www.olddomain.com
it open as different homepage for www.newdomain.com
while
www.olddomain.com/
and any thing will be after /
already will redirect to
www.newdomain.com

Upload it to your root (like under /www )

but this redirect any page whether homepage or anything after / to www.newdomain.com
while I was mean want redirect as example
www.olddomain.com/showthread.php?t=707373
to
www.newdomain.com/showthread.php?t=707373

but not redirect
www.olddomain.com to www.newdomain.com
